Coming from someone who works in the print industry in the art area. This seems about right. I have been tasked with setting up automation and leveraging AI to help with turn around speed as well as checking art. I am guessing once I finish up a good chunk of what I have on my plate They will not be hiring any more art people and will most likely not replace anyone who leaves as well. I do work in a more custom field so we still need people to do complex stuff. But the simple things will become less and less. They say they want to use this as a way to get more work in but we will have to see. The print market is hit or miss and I suspect digital displays to become much cheaper in the next few years as well.
