I have a hidden disability and so as a kid I’d be drawing instead of running around with other kids and I was always told I was horrible at drawing(especially by my OLDER siblings who could draw better than me.. but obviously it was because I was a literal child and they had been drawing more than me AND ALL OF THEM LITERALLY TOOK ART CLASSES IN SCHOOL..) and ever since I’ve usually gone large gaps without drawing due to trauma and shame for “ not drawing good enough “ but even though I know it’s not true, it still affects me. Even after all of this, I’d NEVER use AI images(I refuse to call it ‘art’) because it’s a horrible practice that also destorys the environment. I’d much rather force myself to pick up a pencil or open my art app and draw over and over again till I get what I want, or even ask/pay a friend if I can’t do it myself. Whenever I feel bad about my art I open my sketchbook from 6th grade(when I started somewhat consistently drawing again) and realize how much I’ve improved since then. Even my sketchbook now that I’ve had for like 18 months, I’ve improved since my first drawing in that book. And I go months without drawing. People who use ai are just lazy and unmotivated. I struggle with depression and other mental issues and yet I’m able to get the motivation to draw, so i genuinely don’t understand when people use ai or come up with some excuse. There are no excuses.
