There are two things that strike me in this conversation: 1) AI reflects the people that use it. Not the other way around. The potential problem is more systemic in how our societies are structured with all major financial gain naturally going to the top. There is no sense of responsibility baked into our social systems to encourage those at the top to think about the whole rather than the singular egoistic vision. In the populace, there is still a subtle victim mentality that expresses itself in the pointing of fingers of blame or looking for the outside ‘savior’ (power group or political structure) to fix their woes rather than accepting responsibility for their own actions that contribute to the whole. We are powerful beyond measure and we have been generally conditioned to pretend we are powerless. 2) This is for the big business owners: Who in the hell do you think will be buying your products and services if people’s jobs are replaced and there is NO EMPHASIS on education or reeducation to fit the realities of a new production system using AI? The school system of education has not really evolved in 100 years. It was originally set up to create a workforce of factory workers who learned a task and regurgitated it. AI will be doing that and so… ?… In short, you’re shrinking your own market base without thinking about how you can increase productivity AND expand the prosperity of your market base so you can prosper and grow even more. Together. As a whole system. Bottom line, there are still too many monologues going on and not enough people trained (nor interested) in thinking about long term cause and effects. What are your thoughts on this? (Hyperbole and ugly name calling has become so boring and ineffective, don’t you think? Such a waste of time.) I’m interested in thoughtful ideas that give us something to consider. Together.
