This is the most clear discussion on AI and disturbing as when an expert on the topic gives us these warnings we need to heed them.  I thought that I knew something about this since I have been in Computer Science from the late 1970s. I have been taught OS development from base instruction steps to the layers and layers of abstractions. I knew hex code and could read a core dump. Information was stored in cards at the start.  In my long history, I have programmed in many languages and over many data structures.  I was taught and still believe that the machine can not generate a truly random number. My passion in life has been programming the great machine. It is the silence of the great machine, knowing that it is a mathematical truth. Any given stimulus will produce the same response. This is the first Computer Science Professor that has told me differently.  I used to say to my children's class that you are part animal and part god but no part machine.  The machine is silent and people are noisy.  People have wants and needs the machine has neither.  The machine does not live or die, it is just a tool. I am glad I retired before I became unsure of the answer to this question.
