I really appreciate your criticisms of gen and corporate artificial intelligence. As someone who has developed skin cancer screening apps, contributed to blender, dabbled in graphics programming and has experienced both the artistic and technical sides of programming; it sucks. It sucks to be living through this hellscape that only people chronically on linkedin enjoy. A point you didn't bring up but desperately needs to be addressed is that these increasingly-advanced image generation techniques are fueling new horrific forms of blackmail, incels, and overall unacceptable behavior for human beings. We need art, more than ever with the madness going on, we need real innovation (like that of Blender or publicly funded science/research 🤗). We can not keep appeasing soulless men in suits because they own stocks and they heard about how soon everybody's job will be done be an 'AI agent' 🙄. People who are technical, use your power for good. Contribute and help out where you can make our sciences, internet, and art better and more democratized.
