I dont even think you could generate an idea in your head with ai. I have a couple of characters and there is not a string of words precise enough to get even 10% of the way there. Not unless i do all of the work and feed that back into the ai. at which point i wouldnt need the ai anymore.
People who say otherwise are just gaslighting themselves.
