It seems like a lot of the things being credited to AI were already being done and previously called something else. You can see a through-line from image morphing to the surreal AI slop videos. None of it is that wild, it just seems like if you stick "AI" on it and the result is convincing, people turn their brains off and buy the hype. I have yet to be convinced by any of Hank's arguments that it's a paradigm shift. The marketing and the "AI" jargon would have you believe it is. "Experts" in the tech sector buy the hype too. I use it as a tool to help design circuits, which I think is a fairly complicated task. It's useful. It's basically collating and filtering search results into something more cohesive for me. But it's full of errors and not THAT coherent.
