Couldn't have said it better myself. This is a really good dig into genAI techbro common defences. EDIT: I would like to add that the only reason people would avoid search engines is because even their results are full of genAI slop. It's very hard to avoid, especially if you're looking at creative human-made things that happen to be made at or after 2023. Can't use the good ol' 'before:2023' trick there. I haven't done traditional art since I graduated from high school, but I do a completely different kind of digital art that is very hard for genAI to imitate because it involves working with a small grid of rectangles. I think I'm actually going to wait until the genAI bubble pops before I ever try to get a job in tech, because I really don't want to be forced to work with this stupid technology or any lies LLMs spit out that higher-ups may be fooled by without doing a proper fact check. And I certainly would get sick of having to trick whatever LLMs they may use to analyse resumes to automatically filter job applications out. I just hope whatever non-tech job I will manage to get won't be infected by this kind of slop. I don't even want to see any more AI-generated packaging or AI-generated stock images.
