I like that you're actually pretty fair and nuanced about the specific use cases where AI helps the human rather than replacing the human. As a game developer and amateur 3D modeler who doodles 2D art, and as someone who COMMISSIONS a LOT of lot of art; you're absolutely goddamn right the human process and interaction is important to me. Being able to talk to the artist, lore dump about my OCs, and see them bring it to life in their own specific ways is amazing. But I do see some AI art on pinterest that does make me go "Huh, that's interesting" and I download them as REFERENCES to commission an artist later with, because somehow the AI managed to reproduce an aesthetic that when looking at it "zoomed out" matches an *idea* I want to realize and will serve a purpose in making the commission document more clear to the artist. And as a programmer I do use chatgpt to help with code because it legitimately helps, I don't trust the code and always test and google everything but it helps esp. when documentation is poor. And for punching up my resumes and cover letters whenever I'm looking for work because I need money to life. For more creative things like DM'ing in D&D I like brainstorming with it to get past like writers block but otherwise its my human hand editing and compositing things in the end.
