I think, at the end of the day, either this guy is right, and the real problem is we have to decide for ourselves what counts as a person or not before we encounter, personally, AI, or this person is wrong, for the time being, but Depending on the answer to the above, i.e. “what is it that makes a person“, he likely will be right within our lifetime
If you can agree with this then surely this is a conclusion we need to make ASAP and not after we are regularly encountering AI for ourselves
