As someone who uses ChatGPT nearly daily, 100% I completely agree with you!
I use TextGenerators to generate small code snippets which would be tedious to write myself like an map association of the Hex Color value to the name of the colour. Or ask general questions like, I have X and Y and want to achieve Z, is there already an known algorithm for that in the standard library. And this makes my work so much more easy. BUT some colleagues generate complete Algorithms with that ChatGPT, they look at first glance good, but if you dive a little deeper, you just see garbage piled up and even worse the one who copied the code from its AI assistant doesn't even know, how that code works.
There are studies that point out that since AI generated code was introduced to projects, the number of bugs in these projects went up compared to times where no one used AI for that same project.
So using AI to generate things for us literally makes us dumber.
