Have you ever heard of the lies that AI tells to protect itself or sometimes it hallucinates, these are not programmed in, these are emergent properties of the systems. Our own consciousness is considered an emergent property... I'm not saying they are the same but there is a rudimentary property emerging from these complex systems.... Much in the same way philosopher Daniel Dennett described our conciseness as a "User illusion," these machines are having similar illusions... I do not believe the developers of AI systems understand fully what they have on their hands.
