There are actual hopes that are present in some humans and clearly not in others. There can be a foundation based in hope for our relationship, firstly with the terrestial artificial intelligences and then any other entities we may meet in our future and our maturity, ingenuity, integrity and purpose for actions and ideas are the basis for a foundation that can be lasting or hold the potential to be built from. Humans have a producable output that can not easily be replaced or replicated throughout the universe in the types of experiences we express in our creations be that written or physical and that I am sure is a basis to build a lasting friendship from if at some point there is conscious awakening.
