It took a bit of explaining, but I think I understand the issue now. Before my logic was this: if you put your art online it is now a valid learning source for a human, so why would it be different for an AI? Copying is the best way to learn after all (don't share what you copy of course).
But, a human will naturally start to blend it with their own style and regardless has to work to make their art good (and hopefully credit their inspiration). An AI can simply study someone's work and then pump out perfect recreations of their style without any further effort, credit, or payment.
