couldn't AI be a great way to achieve the post scarcity economy? step 1 make a self replicating robot capable of replacing most or even every human in there workplace. then we no longer need to work to survive. currency is no longer needed.
step 2. send the robots out to use collect and bring back recorces from asteroids or other planets so we don't run out of material on our planet (a job that would likely take to long for humans to do with our limited lifespan.
