Well, whether it's called art or not people still use it and find purpose using it, I hate the fact that the AI itself can only be trained by stealing artwork from artists. But at the end of the day AI is a tool and when someone finds a use for it they're going to use it, so whether society wants to call it art or not isn't really going to change how useful it is to those who want to use it, I think the key takeaway here is regardless of how you define it, it's still exists, and it's garnered a massive community of people who enjoy using it and sharing what they've "created" , and for the most part people just want to be a part of a community, I feel like as long as it's not being used to hurt anyone then there's no reason to worry about it.
