More seriously, I appreciate that you are not pedaling either doom or naivety regarding artificial intelligence. Just mulling things over... *The best thing about my country is the Atlantic Ocean. WW2 and labor unions made the middle class, once known as 'the common man.' Most of us are of average IQ and are good followers of a hopeful myth or narrative. * I'm an old guy who had a successful 44 year career and am living off the various benefit packages that I contributed to along the way. In my retirement, I've been supporting several poor people who never developed any skills that added value. Losers, I guess you could call them. I hope your generation will remember that we all grow old and out of touch, and that we die, and are forgotten. *Also, there are many (many!) chronically psycho-physically sick people in our population (USA) even among the young. You have no doubt noticed the homeless. *And lots of people just want to work a job and raise a family, and are not highly motivated to run their own business. I think most ordinary people just want to cover their rent, transportation, food and have a little left over for amusement or intoxication. *I hope many of you highly motivated and capable youngsters will turn your attention to the failures of our American way of life and at least try to patch it up to something more sustainable and fair to the average Jack and Jill.
