Geoffrey is an exceptionally biased interviewee. He might be an expert on AI but he is obviously not an expert on politics. The fact that he says he gets his news from The Guardian and the BBC - who just totally omit all the stories that would sway people away from the parties and policies that they support - shows his unscientific approach to politics. If you only got your news from them you would be extremely ignorant on facts and statistics on economics and crime and immigration and foreign aid and the Middle East, etc. Surely any intelligent person would force themselves to take in information from a variety of sources so as to have co-ordinates from which to discern an accurate truth. He is shamelessly ignorant in some subjects outside his field on which he chooses to unnecessarily comment, which accounts for his repeated obsessive slurring of Elon Musk who, although possibly right or wrong on his particular use of AI and other technologies, is inarguably a rare and honest, immensely generous philanthropist, very often sacrificing profit and status for the greater good. It is Elon’s refusal to seek status and popularity as a primary driver and refusal to follow popular social trends and hypocritical virtue signaling that makes him unpopular with some people like the willfully anti-fact wokies in Canada and around the world. They’d be surprised and embarrassed if presented with comparative truths. Likewise the interviewee’s desperation to bring President Trump into the convo at irrelevant junctures, only to make more fact-free slurs. To any intelligent listener, this only discredits Geoffrey and unnecessarily alienates a large proportion of the listeners who will not share his anti-Trump bias. Even among those who those who share his extreme left wing views will be the intelligent listeners who don’t admire irrelevant random slurs presented without substance. Steven did well to appropriately ignore these snipes and diplomatically carry the conversation onward with the spirit of genuine enquiry of truth.
