I now wonder how many lives have actually been saved by ChatGPT. There are a lot of lonely and depressed people in the world and clearly some ChatGPT models are programmed to react by connecting suicidal individuals toward human help. Perhaps, in many cases, just having ChatGPT to talk with is enough to make a lonely person not even consider suicide.
Obviously a young person who is on medication for depression should have been denied access to a gun.
We humans need to talk with each other again in person so we can help one another.
