I...commented something similar years ago. TL:DR; I studied art and anatomy for 5 years, to be able to make what I want. I failed and failed again. Now I write poems and stories. So now...And I will try to say this, in the nicest way as possible. Who the fuck cares about what I CAN make, if it's not I want to make. That's like saying "oh you can draw sticks figure nicely even though you want to draw detailed characters, but at least it's your stick figure." I did not want to do what I could do, I wanted to make what I wanted to do. And after practicing, and practicing. Spending years in my room, filling up thousands of papers with scribbles to end up with pieces I did not see as what I wanted, what I expected. Did I set my bar too high? I think not, it should have been expected for me to do something that I am proud of after 5 years of wasting my time above a piece of paper. And I am not a pro AI artist, god no. I think who doesn't have the talent to draw AI art, should stop pretending that what they generate off of an ai fed with different artist is the same as themselves drawing it. Ai art is great if you lack talent, or lack patience, or money. But don't mix AI generated pics with art. So yes, the your art is something only you can make is a dumb way of saying "You can produce shit, but it's going to be your shit." But if you have the talent, or feel like you do. Keep practicing, you will either get there, or be like me, and find your art in something different. Nothing wrong with set a goal and be sidetracked...maybe that's the road that will help you express yourself better than what you try to force on yourself.
