The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is hosting AI data centers by providing these huge AI firms 50+ year leases on federal land. At the 40,000 acre Arnold Air Force Base (Arnold AFB) in Tennessee, DAF is proposing AI data centers at the Arnold AFB boundary next to long established residential neighborhoods of the Cities of Manchester and Tullahoma. Yet DAF refuses to put these data centers next to its aerospace testing facilities located far from communities and will not place AI data centers next to Arnold AFB Family Military Housing. It is such an insult to Coffee County, TN, and DAF provided little to no transparency through local media on these proposed leases.
