On the point about James being a capable artist: I find myself thinking about what Karl Jobst said about cheating speed runners in gaming before his fall from grace: Cheats in the speed running scene are not bad at the game they cheat at, it's just that they want to look even better than what they can do. It does seem to me that a bunch of artists using AI are like this.
