What is this road? Its dark, there are no sidewalks to be seen nearby, no buildings, speed limit seems kinda fast, atleast 45 mph? This is not a place to cross a road in the first place. This is not a place a driver expects a person to suddenly appear 100 feet infront. Im very sure most drivers would've hit that person in a fatal-speed. This is the type of road where 1/3 of drivers start looking at their phone. If its a city street, with sidewalks next to it, buildings, crosswalks, parked cars on the side, sure, thats when a driver is naturally cautious. This type of road is the type where the brain starts "autopilot" and just stays in the lane and keeps distance to car infront. In reality. if sensors and software gets a little better, im very sure a autonomous car would be much faster at reaction to this situation rathern then the average driver.
