So many tech guys are way ahead of themselves on AI. It's a neat technology and it will be disruptive but we're not going to see exponential improvement forever. These models have already hit the top of the s-curve. There's still some significant hurdles they need to overcome before AI can start replacing large numbers of jobs. Even then humans will still be more effective at many tasks for decades to come, and if AI is half as useful as they're predicting the economy is going to boom massively so there would be lots of jobs. Yawn. Wake me up when a robot can install a 50 Amp outlet in my garage without burning down my house. They haven't even solved self driving yet, and that's a task billions of people do everyday on autopilot.
