Yeah…and the companies that are using Ai are ruining their reputation because the public gets angry at them for it. It is not accepted and it should not be. No one is arguing that we need to copyright skills, methods or talents. The issue is Gen Ai is trained off of STOLEN ART regardless of the output, artists did not consent to their work being used in this manner and they are absolutely fighting it out in court right now. It’s unethical and it’s an obvious violation of copyright (but some reason it gets a pass because money). We are still in the early stages, we can still discourage its use. It’s not inevitable. We can demand better from companies. If they want Ai so bad, they can use it ethically or not at all and you better believe there will be regulations legally at some point…we can advocate for all these things. I was being trained to be a professional animator, the industry-standard software we use to animate in 3D and 2D already has Ai tools and had it for years…the difference? These tools were made to help artists work faster by guessing in-betweens and much more (it does it horribly but it’s faster than posing/drawing every frame from scratch). Gen Ai was clearly made to be a replacement and literally can only continue to exist by training itself on stolen art. It is not helpful as an art tool. Money is not the issue. Pay artists for their work, not doing so is exploitation. Cool? Cool.
