AGI is meaningless... but it IS a TYPE OF intelligence.
The "G" part is what is VERY problematic. Are we calling HUMAN intelligence "General" intelligence?? what humans specifically?? What TYPE of intelligence?? Is it based on human measurements of IQ, or more than that?? As we know AI is already way more advanced in many fields in the LEVEL OF knowledge than most humans, it is also able to recollect info much faster, and computational ability much faster etc etc, to the point that most lawyers, doctors of all specialties, teachers programmers, etc etc are now obsolete IF artificial intelligence were to be widely available at the best levels.
Intelligence better than humans is already here... but that is not what they means still with "G" it seems... so what doe they mean by it?? Able to "solve problems"?? what problems?? come up with "new solutions" to problems? but those might not be the problems a super intelligence wants to solve or tackle, solve cancer?? Why would it want to, unless SPECIFICALLY programmed to do so!! But if it si programmed for THAT then it is not a "General" intelligence that can decide for itself, right??
