In the end, whether or not we regard AI as a threat seems to be a difference in our outlook on how smart we think AI will become for the time being. People who think they're a threat think they'll be smart enough to be a threat. Those who think they are not a threat don't think they will be smart enough to be a threat any time soon. I am the latter.
