I felt like this was more a competition to sound smart then to actually get somewhere.
IMO the interesting questions got mostly ignored (I admit I only made it thru the first 2h).
For example Eliezer assumes AI will just go way beyond Human intelligence and uses Stockfish /Chess as analogue. Explaining how chess engines completely crush humans.
Chess has a defined outcome (1, 1/2, 0), Chess engines play billions of games against themselves to self-improve. its not at all clear how to apply this to open real world problems.
He also claims current LLm's can play chess. Apparently he never tried it. All current GPT-models cannot play chess. They lose track of the position and start making illegal moves. Such flawed statements make my doubt the quality of the rest of the arguments these two geniuses make.
