I can't help thinking how much this warning sounds like other existential threat warnings like global cooling, global warming, climate change, covid-19, etc. We're all going to die unless we immediately ask government (and only a world government will be effective) to control this new crisis de jour. The worst possible outcome would be to have AI development in the control of fewer rather than more people.
