The pandemic cycle was so dumb. Companies invested billions into people working remotely and leaving the house less often (e.g. the Texas housing market catering to people with California jobs). Then, at their earliest convenience, they all force Return To Office (RTO) policies on the workforce so that those pandemic markets no longer existed. THEN, they laid off thousands of employees to make up for the loss in revenue. And now they blame the bad job market on AI. 🤦
