You'll know its serious when either no one knows where data centers are because they are top secret, and or they are being protected by anti-air missile defense. If the data centers are taken off line even for a week, US could lose the AI arms race to China or Russia and vice versa. It'll become a matter of national security....lets just hope the most ethical prevail. At least with nukes, the whole world is over in ~60 minutes....humans could suffer for decades if the wrong AI wins.
