It's a beautiful sentiment. One I believe a lot of artists hold. But there's quite a few people that don't see it that way. Who don't put in the time and effort. The kind of people who will half ass their work but expect to be praised anyway. People that don't create because they have a vision or a passion, but do it because they think it's easy, or pursue some agenda.
AI is a thousand monkeys at typewriters. They'll eventually write Shakespeare. Not a whole book, but they'll happen upon a line. A paragraph. The AI is even marginally better than that, as it understands pieces here and there but not how they connect. Vague understanding of color theory, of composition, of what humans look like. Yes, AI can make competent work, sometimes. That makes it better than insincere hacks at a fraction of the price. In part, that is why Hollywood has been turning to AI. Why pay for an insincere hack when we can randomize a hack until it's good enough for free?
