If regular people can't provide the wealthy with value then regular people will simply be ... phased out. Even now, non productive people serve the interests of the wealthy since we live in a democracy. Keep the useless eaters on the hook with their vote and the wealthy control the government through the useless, making them useful. If a middle class, lower class, and even an otherwise useless voting class has no utility anymore thanks to AI and robotics, that doesn't mean we get to live on UBI. We would just be a drain on the resources of the ultra wealthy. We will simply be eliminated.
