The reason the guy didn't care and knows is because he's part of an evil plot to use AI to basically create an impressive Elysium style world where the elite live in heavenly enclaves and the rest of us are basically their slaves and live in slums. And they will enforce this with AI and robotics just like in the movie which was a metaphor for this whole thing maybe they knew about it back then. So get ready and don't swallow the Kool-Aid!
