The main problem is actually the fact that the generators are unethically sourced and the creators and users of them are completely fine with that and the fact it's most of the time paid, because they're profiting off of other people's work that they did not even consent to being used, that's the unethical part about it, they're using the bullshit "If it's online it's public domain" which it literally isn't It's very different from a human getting inspired by other artists works because our own mind can interpret it in different ways and generate its own style which is loosely influenced by the others meanwhile a machine can't interpret or be influenced, it just does, it's no different then tracing someone else's artwork, editing it slightly using other traced peices of artwork and calling it yours it has no style, and it looks souless, it's not someone drawing it's someone pretending, and it cannot come up with creative concepts also the fact it's called ai "art" because it's in reality ai image generation (Or if you wanna get technical, "Image generation based on defusion algorithm and text processing ai"), it can be a useful tool but it can never replace art because it heavely relies on human elements Also another thing is that it takes absolutely zero effort, and it especially annoys me when people call it "their ai art" as if they did anything but type a few words on their keyboard to get processed by a server and code they did not have any involvement in creating whatsoever that they paid to use
