AI is a tool, similar to a microwave, or a 3d printer. You tell it what you want, and it gives it to you. You aren't a sculptor for making your 3d printer create something, you arent a chef for telling a microwave how long to cook a hot pocket, you aren't an artist for telling a program what to draw. I personally have no problems with the concept of AI art in a metaphorical vacuum. To translate into understandable terms, it's fine at base level. Not as high-quality as actually making the art, just like microwaving a meal isn't as healthy as cooking it yourself, but it's the cheap and efficient way and can be a really nice way to make something if it's just a side thing that you dont want to spend hours drawing just to look at once. The issue arises when people begin treating AI art like real art, when they treat a microwaved hot pocket like a full 3-course hand-cooked meal. It's illogical, irrational, and downright disrespectful towards every chef who puts heart into their craft. Tldr: AI isnt the issue, it's how everyone treats it: it should be a cheap yet low-quality option for personal use, not a replacement for every piece of actual art.
