A whole lot of people choose to believe that something they don't agree with (because it doesn't agree with them) is AI. Then they can dismiss it and go on believing as they choose to. This reveals their personal lack of innate intelligence, attention, education and awareness. So far, I have been able to do very well at discerning AI content, whether still image, video or audio. I've always had a very good BS detector that has served me very well for many decades, and it continues to work well for AI content. But I've always paid a lot of attention to the details of everything and I've always had an open, inquisitive mind. AI content literally jumps out at me, even without me starting to analyze it. Sometimes I'm not even sure what triggered my BS detector, although with further consideration I can start pointing out details that are inconsistent with reality. But I've spent my whole life (many decades) being highly aware of the ways things and people are and the ways they work or don't work. I think that most people haven't developed and refined their skills to do this well enough to make effective use of instruction about how to detect AI content. Humans have always been able to create fake text, speech (lies), images, vocalizations and other sounds. I did a lot of photography for much of my life and am very aware of how images can provide fake impressions, whether done in camera or in the darkroom and now with Photoshop. AI has just automated the process, which still depends upon human input (seeding, instruction), even if indirectly through AI input that originally arose from human intent and action. AI has provided some semblance of ability, techniques and empowerment to a broad swath of the population to produce AI output, whether for good or bad purposes. It does, however, require a good deal of knowledge, understanding, attention and awareness for a person to become proficient at using AI, which is just a tool. Unfortunately, a great percentage of the population will always fall for fakes as being real. Lies will always be able to travel half way around the world before truth gets its boots on. Sadly, those who easily fall for the lies typically do so because the lie is about something they fear or covet. Look how many fall for things that are quite obviously "too good to be true." Falling for things that are "too bad to be true" is just as bad.
