AI art is all about convenience, a lack of skill/patience and saving time.
I use Ai art for when I am too lazy to draw up a character image for my oneshot pen and paper characters, or need a quick idea on what the evil corporation logo looks like that I just founded in my game of taveler (where an AI generated corporation logo kinda fits the bill anyway)
If i play a longer campaign, I dedicate time to drawing my own images of assets and characters though and am very happy with the results. There's nouance to everything. AI is a tool, but AI "art" is not Art. It's convenient visualization for a very narrow usecase. Everything else about AI is about as much hype in the tech world, as the crypto bubble used to be. I'm glad the real artists find ways of fighting back against the theft of their work.
