I am a heavy equipment machanic, no AI or robots in this entire industry. I used to be a network administrator, those jobs are gone now. I don't see robots really doing any repairing type job, they suck at it and at best can give a human direction during the diagnostic stage but then its useless. Construction is safe from it, AI and robots are not flexible enough to deal with the constant changes you have to make on the fly to do any upgrade or repairs on pretty much any building or house. They don't do work that is off the ground, cleaning windows on high rises has nothing to do with robots or AI, tons of maintenance jobs are above both AI and robots, from oil changes to cleaning ovens they just are not there yet. Robots cannot come to your house and work with you to decide where to hang a new ceiling fan, nor can they do the work. Robots are not coming to fix your air conditioner or heater or water heater, or leaky sink or plugged toilet. I doubt it will ever cut hair or do nails, it cannot handle live dynamic situations well so it wont be in law enforcement any time soon, they might use robot dogs but it is humans who will use them, not robots. I do think white collar jobs can mostly be replaced, those jobs were not very important when humans did them so they can be replaced. I worked in IT for 20 years, half of the people I worked with were zombies, those were not real jobs that gave anyone a feeling that they were doing something valid, knowing your nothing more than a cog in a huge wheel is not a real job. You knew all along you were replaceable, you might not have thought a machine would do it but you knew if you quit that job it would not be much of a hardship and you would be replaced easy enough. If you want work, and something that is not leaving anytime soon, learn to fix something. Cars to vacuums, people are done buying new because new things mostly suck and are now way over priced, so they will repair things to keep what works and often it is far cheaper now. Rental industries are full of jobs only humans can do, what ever they rent gets abused and needs constant repair and maintenance. Bus companies need people, trains need constant repair, housing needs constant repair. A roofer might be hard work, but no robot is climbing up there anytime soon to do that kind of work.
