I mean.... They're not wrong, just for the wrong reason.
AI tools CAN be made to help assist with artistic vision.
Example; You can use them to generate a drawing you give them in a different pose, angle, or with different shading. That way you don't have to completely redo the work everytime you want to try a minor difference.
However, instead of working with AI companies to figure out products artists could use AI tech to help them with, they just shun the new tech because it shortcuts their work for lay people.
Like artists in the past said about all digital tools when those first came out.
