Why do fucking old school senators like him think that AI can be regulated and controlled in a society that operates on “capitalism”. YOU CANNOT STOP THE PROGRESS OF AI OR CONTROL IT. Should we have toll booth operators and bank tellers instead of EZPass and ATMs. The future of humanity is not manufacturing jobs so people can live and pay mortgages. If the advent of AI means there cannot be 7 billion mouths to feed then the passage of time and evolution of humanity will fix that on its own, even if that means some initial hardship. The future of mankind is headed towards the concepts they show on fiction shows like startrek. Humans will exist to better themselves and the world. Money will not be the most important factor. While this concept is many centuries away, that will be end goal. Until then universal basic income will be needed to maintain the world order as we know it today. But eventually after many, many decades, the world population will auto correct itself and the symbiosis of incorporating AI into our daily lives. This senator only can see what happens in the next 10-15 years. Not 100-200 years.
