The worst part about AI "Cinema" is the fact that AI bros created their own film theory called "New Machine Cinema." It is created by an infamous AI bro, Hooroo Jackson, and it's based on three shitty pillars that I am going to debunk: 1. One Man, One Film: It's mainly a concept that directors of AI films are the only persons that can create thw best movies, and actors, writers and operators are not necessary, since AI will take care of it, and that dorecotrs vision is the most essential part of the movie. Even if we ignore the plain lack of knowledge of how movies work, having the director as the only sentient being behind the production is a horrible choice. AI is mainly a yes-man, and even with directors of normal movies, we can see what happens when the director have a full control over their vanity projects. Not to mention that lack of actors make the AI "movies" only more soulless. 2. Post-Scarcity Cinema: A concept, in which the future cinema that will be managed inly by AI and independent directors/amateur film studios, while Hollywood, movie studios made by corporations, or budget won't be needed anymore. While this sounds pretty amazing on the first read, since corporations DO affect the movie industry negatively, whatbthey propose is the total anarchy of people, who are not only lazy, but only want fast made product. I agree that many creative people don't have resources to make theirbown movie, but using AI, thatbis a yes-man, and frankly steals most of the ideas from other human made media, only creates an oversaturation of products, that aren't really orginal at that point. And finally 3. Roguelike Cinema: An idea of a movie that mixes up with different genres and styles (such as 2d animation with stop motion animation or live action with anime). The thing is that it is nothing new: Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one example. And even if AI quality improves, what's the guarantee that the story will still be good. What is consistent among AI bros is that they don't care about movies per say, they just want to boast they they are revolutionary, misunderstood visioners, and reap awards.
