the big difference between ai and people is on one hand you have evolution crafting better and better ways of doing things some of those are through physical stuff like how a bone forms and others are more on the side of mental hardware such as a new section or just more neurons or more connections and then others is more a firmware sortof thing where certain things are automatically writteen to always happen. this is all done in reaction to external stimuli over thousands of generations for organisms that need to combine 2 genes to make a new one and tens of thousands of generations for those organisms that just copy each other all of this is governed by how flawed the gene copying systems are because many things require a mistake to happen to do something very new when it has never existed in the family tree where flipping a gene because of a specific combo of 2 genes suddenly reinvigorates a lost trait that turns out useful enough to allow you to reproduce more. in stuff that splits it requires the genes to have had a mistake in the copy system to make something new and that new something then needs to be better at making use of the environment and keeping its population going than its rivals. this process has created a system with a ton of built in fears that keep most of us pretty aligned with preserving ourselves when faced with immediate threats. this is also why everyone is concerned far more about the here and now than the far off because if you dont have food water safety and nookie now then later doesnt matter one bit because you will not be passing your code onto the next generation. now we have an interesting thing with AI it didnt start as just a bunch of chemical reactions tha sustained themselves and "grew" using available resources around them AI is more of the "ailiens" or "divine snappening of the great sky fairy" type where it is given a designed system and doesnt physically evolve and can only change what it learns with few if any predetermined pathways taht go directly to an answer. brains have evolved predetermined pathways that go directly towards answers or functions AI doesnt have this so it needs to learn EVERYTHING it would be similar to if you or I had to learn how to breathe make our heart pump correctly and also figure out all the rest of th controls of our flesh mech we were born into the head of no we are prewired with all the firmware necessary to natively use the flesh mech we were born with else its unlikely we lived very long after being born. but without giving too much away so people cant dox me my late grandmother transformed that field of medicine so now even if your flesh mech comes out an isnt working or you just cant interface with it correctly for some reason or you and the flesh mech came out a bit too early well now you had a far far far greater chance of living because of the stuff she pioneered. yes it is interesting having semi famous people in your family tree its crazy being able to say that around 10% of the global population wouldn't exist if my grandmother wasn't 1 of the 2 women who graduated at her college that year (not sure if both graduated with a phd or if that was just her or if she meant 2 women who graduated as phd holders that year) anyway ai has started in this state and is constrained by what it is given in terms of power and direct result pathways we code into it and how or even if it can use those pathways, just ask any chinese AI if there ever was a guy holding up a line of tanks at tienamin square in protest to the murders of protestors and the software screeners before the AI filter this out and give a direct answer this would be the same as you cant conciously do anything with how much light your eyeballs let in oryour heart beat. so yes it will be interesting to see what happens.
