Let’s clarify this, because people are being unnecessarily scared…
Of course, Elon is right that in the FUTURE there will be no work, but that will happen in 100–300 years, because entire cities would have to be built from scratch (!), and not all countries will agree to that (for example, Switzerland will keep its old buildings; let Elon put his talking—microwave-on-legs there and let it handle repairing anything beyond a sidewalk slab; it’s ridiculous (!!!)).
But what really concerns people is next 20- 30 years…
AI automation will advance (factories/logistics/office work/managers; only leaders will remain in companies (<0,01% of managers); Renaissance- Man and top specialists/ programmers/ etc.), but it will not replace plumbers/doctors/legal philosophers (lawyers will be replaced)/teachers of children/outstanding lecturers (max 10%)/etc.
For AI to be able to repair infrastructure, it first has to create it (or we have to build it with the expectation that AI will maintain it); otherwise, it’s impossible.
In summary- complex manual work and the top 10- 20% of specialists in their fields will remain for a long time.
