She seems pretty savvy at articulating the downsides - though Kenyans aren't forced to take these jobs and most industries have fossil fuel externalities so she could just be talking about any industry. Would have been nice to see a fuller accounting of the benefits, which seem to be the more interesting and unique part of this industry. Also, at some point some "thought leader" in these AI conversations is going to finally stumble on the econ 101 principle that jobs are costs. We've been pretending they are benefits in public policy in the US for far too long and AI forcing us to face this reality is a huge benefit in my eyes.
