AI is dangerous in the hands of idiot, malicious people and rulers as well as military. So you can't regulate it away nor put it back in pandora's box. We have to learn to use it and implement it in safe ways while managing the negative ramifications including jobs. I would not learn to plumb. I'd learn to use AI as an expert to improve the value I bring in the job I do for my company.
Those who use AI well will survive the change while the rest will be left behind. There is no bring manufacturing jobs back - simple idiocy. AI will own that and many other industries with repetitive workload.
