I find that it responds well to being berated, GPT5 Has a tendency to default to short, ‘punchy’ sentences in my long form stories when that destroys the flow, I have tried asking kindly to stop reverting to short lines, but that’s less effective as a profanity laden screed against it to embarrass it into behaving, I also cut and paste pieces of its own dialog that co traditional what it’s telling me as I call it out on its continued refusal to follow the writing guidelines
Gemini does something similar, asking how I want to continue the story, which breaks immersion…
So I scream at it and insult it (via text) until it behaves ;)
