It's no consolation to you of course, but the 'best' AI generated writing (IMO) will always be a.) inferior to exceptional human literary writing and b.) always generic enough to instantly recognize as the creation of algorythms. The kind of anodyne, insipid garbage that CoPilot pumps out when you give it a story prompt has the same hackneyed tropes and cliches from the pulp fiction it's raided for inspiration ('Once upon a time/the air crackled in anticipation etc.). It's also noticeable in the digital trash that Yahoo et al pump out in their AI generated news copy has zero awareness of register or target reader (using words such as 'cops'/kids etc. Unfortunately, AI's adoption will thrive because of the greed of corporations (who couldn't give a fuck about cultural and civilizational impact) and the greed and myopia of universities who will allow sts. to use this scam technology to write their essays and do the required course reading (Summarizers - they save you time eh and will destroy your literacy skills, great eh?).
