THANK YOU SENATOR! I am an IT engineer specializing in AI, and I find the debate around AI so frustrating. People are, justifiably, scared of AI and the impact it will have on our lives, but for so many the solution they come up with is a fundamental rejection of the technology itself and demanding it be banned in its entirety. NO! AI has the potential to improve our lives in incredible ways, the question is just about who is going to reap the profits. In the current system, the advancements in AI will make the rich richer and leave everyone else out to dry. That is unacceptable. What we need is not a rejection of new technology, it is a fundamental restructuring of society to demand that new technology is implemented to benefit everyone.
