It's not just the lack of respect shown to us artists by stealing from us. It's the lack of respect shown to their audience as well. People can rave about how much they don't care about how long a piece of art (whether it's an image, movie, animation, music etc) took to make but take a look at the art which remained popular for a long time. It's usually not something just slapped together, it's a lot of work, as well as the creator's heart and soul that went into it's creation. It's all the micro decisions made along the way during that long process which made it even better. Studio Ghibli being an excellent example. There's AI written books out there where the "author" is not only expecting payment for them, but for their customer to spend longer reading the book than the "author" took to write it. Where's the respect for the audience there? I've got books on my shelves which can easily be found in a book store selling new books, but forget about finding them second hand anywhere around here. People buy them, and don't want to part with them because they know they will be reading that book again. That's showing respect for your audience, you're offering them better value for their dollar.
